TRON has unveiled its expansion plans to the South Korean blockchain and gaming market. To make this expansion possible, TRON has signed several agreements with Korea Mobile Game Association (KMGA) and Korea Blockchain Contents Association (KBCCA), Korea's two major gaming and blockchain organizations.

What's the Nature of this Agreement?

Three months ago, we wrote an article about Enjin's expansion plans to the South Korean gaming & blockchain market. Yesterday, we found out that TRON has very similar plans, and has already signed Memorandums of Understanding with KMGA and KBCCA.

TRON announces its move to South Korea

These agreements are the result of many closed-door meetings between Tron’s Head of Business Development, Roy Liu, and the Korean companies, which were held in Seoul. The agreements dictate that the two companies will create a fruitful environment to help TRON invest in Korea's small and medium-sized blockchain and gaming companies. KMGA and KBCCA will actively search for the potential partners for TRON's platform.

Why Expand to South Korea?

South Korea is known for its love for gaming and technology. Their gaming industry is the 4th largest in the world, having spent more than $2.3 billion on mobile games alone. And though the statistics for 2018 are yet to be published, many assume that these numbers would only grow with time.

These agreements also add legitimacy to TRON's ventures in South Korea, clearing the way for any future corporate partners in the country. TRON already held meetings with several South Korean blockchain and gaming companies, with a desire to fund their projects and inspire growth.

On Legality and Charity

KMGA and KBCCA will provide legal support, search for potential clients, hold events and seminars in order to popularize the DGaming industry and its benefits.

Partnership with TRON will not only help TRON reach more users in South Korea but will also help KBCCA promote blockchain in their country. Furthermore, TRON's partnership with KMGA will inspire many South Korean indie game developers to reach their true potential by providing them with legal and financial support.

TRON Foundation joins the #VoiceYourLove campaign

Business aside, TRON Foundation has partnered with ALS Association in order to help people with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. TRON will use the blockchain technology to track donations made to the ALS Association. This will not only help the ALS Association raise awareness of this rare disease, but will also attract new research and treatment funds.
